When it was announced that Marvel Studios would be producing series for Disney+, most people understood that Feige wouldn’t let quality slide. After all, after 23 movies and $22 billion at the box office, it’s pretty stupid to doubt him. But that didn’t stop people from trying to spread bogus rumors that the shows would be relatively low budget shows like the Marvel Television series.
Today The Hollywood Reporter has an article about the upcoming launch of Disney+ and they have a thing about the budgets for the Marvel series.
a source pegs Marvel entries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, WandaVision and Hawkeye at as much as $25 million per episode
At six episodes each, that puts the Marvel Studios series at a budget of about $150 million, which is around the average for a non-Avengers Marvel Studios movie. Meaning the shows are going to look as good as the movies do, without corners cut for effects.
As for how it compares to a Marvel Television series, the average episode budget for something like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been reported to be around $6-9 million. So the Disney+ shows produced by Marvel studios have a budget three times as big as the flagship Marvel Television show.
