Kevin Smith Says the Next Spider-Man Movie Will Be a ‘Letdown’ and ‘Bummer’ if it’s Not in the MCU

There’s no deal (yet) to keep Spider-Man in the MCU, despite a lot of bogus claims on the internet and YouTube claiming otherwise, but a lot of people are starting to realize what Spider-Man not being in the MCU is going to mean in the future.

One of those is Kevin Smith, who in his latest episode of his FatMan Beyond podcast, he talks about watching Spider-Man: Far From Home again and how perfect that Spider-Man is, and then talks about the future:

“Far From Home is predicated on ‘I miss Tony’ so much, if the next movie is like ‘Tony who? Where’s Uncle Ben?’, like it’s going to be a real f***king letdown I feel. But they still get to keep all those kids, right? Like all the people in this world are the same, they just can’t reference the Marvel Universe? It’s going to be a bummer, I really hope they figure that out.”

It seems like everyone except Sony seems to realize what this is going to do for Spider-Man in the future. After all, just today Sony revealed they’re working on a Madame Web movie and hired the producer of Fantastic Four, X-Men: Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix, and New Mutants to produce Venom 2.
