The Future of the MCU is Being Plotted Soon

Following the success of Iron Man in 2008 and the announcement of the films that would lead into The Avengers; Marvel Studios began holding creative retreats for their filmmakers to discuss and plan out the massive interconnected universe. These are done away from Hollywood at a place free of distractions so they can focus on the creative aspects of the MCU.

In the near future, the majority of the MCU directors and key creative people will meeting at a top secret location far from Los Angeles to begin planning on the next big phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Obviously no one will know what goes on inside those walls over the days of the retreat, but it’s pretty cool to know that the first ideas of where everything is headed in Phase 4 and beyond is being discussed and plotted. It was at the creative retreat in 2014 when the idea of Infinity War and Endgame began, so there could be some real epic ideas beginning there.

Following the creative retreat, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and WandaVision will begin production followed by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Loki, and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings in the first half of 2020. Phase 4 will be fully underway beyond Black Widow and The Eternals, which are well into production already.

With the movies, and the many Disney+ series both announced and unannounced, there is a lot of MCU content on the way; and where it’s all going to lead is about to be planned out.
