Rumor: The Inhuman Royal Family May Still Have a Future in the MCU

Most Marvel Cinematic Universe fans know the rocky history of The Inhumans. Originally announced as a movie, it then became a limited series by Marvel Television that most people already forgot about (or wish they could).

Well the Inhumans, specifically the Royal Family led by fan favorite Black Bolt, may still have a future in the MCU, and I’m not talking about a continuation of the terrible TV show. Actual MCU run by Marvel Studios.

This won’t happen anytime soon, but it’s apparently in the cards further down the line after characters like Ms. Marvel and the Celestials are better established in the MCU. It’ll also be far enough from what Marvel Television did that not many people will remember that version of Black Bolt and Medusa.

Yes, it would be a reboot or retcon in the MCU, but it’s one most fans would probably have no problem with. Especially if it gives us Black Bolt in the movies.

Remember, in 2016 Kevin Feige left the door open for Inhumans to appear on the big screen in the future despite the TV show, as he told Slashfilm:

I think Inhumans will happen for sure. I don’t know when. I think it’s happening on television. And I think as we get into Phase 4 as I’ve always said, it could happen as a movie. I think it would be super cool.

Kevin Feige to Slashfilm, November 4, 2016

Again, it wouldn’t happen anytime soon and should be labeled as a rumor right now, but if Ms. Marvel’s origin on Disney+ is that of an Inhuman, that would be Marvel Studios’ first step towards rebooting the characters into the prime MCU.
