Report: Sony Cuts Ties With Marvel; Two More Holland Spider-Man Movies Planned

Bad news for Spider-Man fans, according to Deadline; Kevin Feige has been forced out of involvement with Spider-Man and Marvel Studios will not produce the net two Spider-Man movies:

A dispute that has taken place over the past few months at the top of Disney and Sony has essentially nixed Feige, and the future involvement of Marvel from the Spider-Man universe, sources said

Sources said there are two more Spider-Man films in the works that are meant to have director Jon Watts and Tom Holland front and center. Unless something dramatic happens, Feige won’t be the lead creative producer of those pictures.

If this is all true, it ends the coverage of Spider-Man movies on this site. If Sony doesn’t want the character to be in the MCU anymore; and he’s not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s not worth covering the movies that they will put out. All of the success of Homecoming and Far From Home came from them being handled by Marvel. MCU Cosmic will not be covering future Spider-Man movies that are not part of the MCU.

Sony just killed their billon dollar franchise. Good job.
