The second solo MCU outing for Peter Parker has just set a milestone that no Spider-Man movie before has been able to reach. Spider-Man: Far From Home has officially crossed $1 billion at the global box office, which makes it the most successful Spider-Man movie ever, and only the second Sony release to make that much after Skyfall.
In terms of the Spider-Man film series, 2007’s Spider-Man 3 is second with $809 million, and Spider-Man: Homecoming is third with $808 million. At the bottom of the list is Amazing Spider-Man 2 for the live action movies at $709 million, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is last with $375 million.
Due to the movie still being successful in theaters, Sony hasn’t announced a release date for the third movie in this trilogy, although if they stick to their normal release schedule most expect it in July 2021. Kevin Feige has talked about the third movie, saying that following the events of Far From Home it’ll be a Peter Parker story we’ve never seen on screen before.
