Over the last couple of months we’ve heard of a growing number of supernatural Marvel heroes headed to Hulu. First came Ghost Rider and Helstrom, then a rumor about Glyph, and news that Spirits of Vengeance was trademarked for a show. Just today news came out that Elizabeth Hurley was cast as Morgan le Fay, and will debut on Hulu’s Runaways.
Marvel may have even bigger plans for the supernatural side of Hulu, as according to a reliable source Blade is one of the many horror-centric Marvel characters who will be used very soon. And he won’t be alone, numerous classic and modern Marvel supernatural characters will show up as well.
In the comics, Spirits of Vengeance was a team of supernatural heroes and it consisted of Ghost Rider, Helstrom, Satana, and Blade. Two of them are already confirmed to appear in series on Hulu, and the Spirits of Vengeance name was trademarked at the same time for a series. I also wouldn’t be shocked if we heard of Satana being a character they plan to use; completing the same line up as the five-issue limited series comic.
This isn’t the first we’ve heard about Blade in the MCU, as they’ve been taking about the character for a very long time. But with the arrival of the supernatural Marvel shows on Hulu, it’s possible his debut is imminent. Blade has also been receiving a big push in the comics, being made an Avenger and the focus of an upcoming Avengers event.
The slight possibility of a movie does remain, however with the other horror characters headed to Hulu, and the trademarking of Spirits of Vengeance (which starred Blade), the streaming service seems to be the place where Marvel’s vampire hunter will appear next.
Perhaps he’ll even interact with characters such as Marvel’s Dracula and Werewolf by Night…
