Brie Larson Clarifies Her Comments That the Internet Took Wildly Out of Context

Over the last couple of weeks the internet has been pretty much a dumpster fire of people taking some comments Brie Larson made previously about the Captain Marvel press tour wildly out of context. Basically she said she wanted to have a diverse pool of journalists on her press tour, but of course that’s not how the internet took it.

As trolls tend to do they warped the comments to fit whatever agenda they wanted to push. Just look at the review bombing of the movie on Rotten Tomatoes for an example of this. Now she’s explained again what she meant by the comments that people weaponized to attack the movie.

In an interview with Fox 5 DC, Brie was asked about those headlines, and she explained what she meant and what the internet didn’t understand:

“What I’m looking for is to bring more seats up to the table. No one is getting their chair taken away. There’s not less seats at the table, there’s just more seats at the table.”

It kind of sucks that she actually had to say that, but with how the internet is now it was inevitable that she would be asked about it on the press tour. She shot down the false narrative people have been pushing pretty well with that response.
