Over the last week or so you may have seen a lot of headlines claiming that a new Avengers: Endgame “trailer” is going to debut during the big game this coming Sunday. That’s due to a very annoying new trend where some websites like to incorrectly label short TV spots as “trailers”, simply because that’s what people search for when it comes to movies. A trailer is really something closer to two minutes with a lot of footage, while a short thirty-second TV spot is most definitely not that.
We are very, very likely to see a thirty-second “Big Game Spot” like Marvel did for Avengers: Infinity War last year, but that’s not the new “trailer”. It’s a TV spot.
Disney doesn’t reveal their big game spots early like other studios do, the number they buy may come out, but the specific movies are held until they air. Right now it does sound extremely likely for Avengers, although Captain Marvel doesn’t sound like it’s happening during the game. It’s always possible a spot for Captain Marvel could air prior to the game starting when spots are cheaper though.
As for the next real trailer for Avengers: Endgame? Most people expect that to either be in very late February or early March. Either right before or right after Captain Marvel is in theaters.
