We might see the Avengers reassembled before Avengers: Endgame arrives, if plans for the big Oscar telecast play out as being reported. It could also be a clue as to how the promotion of the movie is going to happen.
According to THR, the Oscars producers are rushing to try to get as many Avengers on the telecast as possible. It’s happened before, but the timing of this could be interesting:
“If the show’s producers can pull off a such a Marvel-ous stunt, it could benefit all involved: the Academy (which would love to serve up a star-studded show), ABC (which could potentially reap ratings benefits if it has an opportunity to promote the Marvel teaming ahead of time) and Disney (which owns not only ABC, but also Marvel). Certainly, it would be a nice promo for Avengers: Endgame, which opens April 26.”
This is just speculation, but if a new trailer were to be in theaters with Captain Marvel on March 8th, that is approximately the time it would be released online. However, it has to be stressed that it’s entirely possible that the second Avengers: Endgame trailer could arrive after the release of Captain Marvel. Last year they waited until the week following Avengers: Infinity War to release the second Ant-Man and The Wasp trailer; so that could happen again this year.
