The Russos Claim a ‘High Probability’ of a Three-Hour Avengers: Endgame

There’s been a lot of teasing by the Russo Brothers over the run time of Avengers: Endgame recently. Back when the first began editing the Joe Russo said on Instagram that the current cut was right at three hours. Then another interview came out where they said it was three hours, but they’d probably try to “squeeze it” (meaning it’ll end up being less than three hours).

Now comes an interview from Empire Magazine (via ComicBookMovie) where they say:

“There’s a high probability that this movie will clock in at around three hours. It’s a big movie with a lot of story.”

Then again, they did tell Uproxx back in May that the Avengers 4 title wasn’t spoken in Avengers: Infinity War.

It remains to be seen if Disney and theater chains would allow a three-hour movie at the beginning of May, even if it is an Avengers sequel. Three-hour movies limit the number of show times a theater can run per screen per day, and they’re going to want to cram as many showings of Avengers: Endgame as possible in the first two weeks before the other big May releases start arriving.
