Rumor: A Future MCU Movie Will Feature Scenes Set in WWI

With the early Phase 4 movies pretty well set, we’re going to be hearing a lot of about Marvel movies filming over the next few months. Now there’s an apparent report out of Italy that a Marvel movie will film there for scenes set in an era of the MCU we haven’t seen yet.

According to Italian site Badtaste.it citing the newspaper I l Saviglianese, the castle and historic center of Racconigi is going to be used for a Marvel movie that will film there in April and May of next year. They say the scenes will be for a story set in the first World War.

Obviously based on the dates they give it sounds like it could be for Black Widow, and the article claims the director was spotted in the area. If that’s true, then it would obviously be a flashback in that movie. At the same time, it could also be for The Eternals, as those characters have existed in the Marvel universe for millions of years and they wouldn’t be out of place in any time period.

If this is true, they’re definitely going to be expanding upon the history of the MCU in Phase 4 in ways we haven’t seen yet.
