With all of the Phase 4 movies being confirmed, such as Black Widow, The Eternals, and Shang-Chi; everyone is wondering when the Sorcerer Supreme will return in his own solo sequel. Well now another piece of the puzzle has fallen into place as the movie has a director, and it’s who everyone expected it to be.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Scott Derrickson will return to direct the sequel:
“Marvel is finally ready to conjure up a sequel to Doctor Strange.
Scott Derrickson, who directed and co-wrote the mystical Marvel hero’s initial 2016 outing, has quietly finalized a deal to direct the new installment.”
According to the report, the movie will be written over the next year, film in 2020, and then be the May 2021 MCU release!
