Ever since the James Gunn drama earlier this year, Marvel fans have wanted to know who would direct Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. According to Disney site DisInsider, Marvel may have found their director.
Citing multiple sources, DisInsider says that Bumblebee director Travis Knight is the man Marvel wants for the third outing of the Guardians:
“There has been a lot of mystery as to what will come of the Guardians Of The Galaxy post James Gunn. Production, release date and news have all been delayed due to the debacle of Gunn’s firing. However, we here at The DisInsider have learned, from a very close source, that Travis Knight (Kubo And The Two Strings/The Bumblebee Movie) is a name being looked at to helm the third installment.”
The site also says he was on the short-list for The Eternals before that went to Chloe Zhao. Since the two movies are apparently very closely related, it would make a lot of sense for someone considered for The Eternals to end up making Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
