With people trying to figure out what will be the three 2020 Marvel Studios movies after the delay of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Doctor Strange 2 has been one that’s popped up a lot lately. Kevin Feige confirmed over the summer that they were going to do a Doctor Strange sequel, and of course Scott Derrickson likes to tease fans on social media with pictures of the Sorcerer Supreme. But now we may have some concrete information about when it’ll begin.
Fan Expo Vancouver is going on this weekend, and Benedict Wong is there as a guest. People on Twitter who attended his panel say he wouldn’t say much about Avengers 4 other than he did film scenes for it, and he reporedly said he hopes to start filming Doctor Strange 2 at the end of this year.
The third Guardians of the Galaxy was to begin filming in January for the May 2020 release date. If Doctor Strange 2 is instead filming at the end of the year, it’s entirely possible for it to make that release date instead of Guardians.
