This morning The Hollywood Reporter ran a story about how Scarlet Johansson landed a $15 million payday for the upcoming Black Widow movie. Normally I don’t bother with that sort of thing as what someone gets paid for a movie is inside baseball gossip, but buried in the article is a revelation of how many movies we can expect to see Brie Larson in as Captain Marvel:
“And Brie Larson, whose Oscar win for 2015’s Room figures into her deals, will be paid some $5 million for next year’s Captain Marvel movie (Larson landed a generous payday, but in exchange signed a seven-picture deal that locks her into multiple franchises.)”
Marvel Studios contracts are known to be pretty big. Six movies are common, while others such as Samuel L. Jackson and Sebastian Stan had nine movie deals. Seven movies is an odd number, but that could be due to Avengers: Annihilation. She’d do six movies in addition to this upcoming Avengers movie.
This means that you can expect to see Captain Marvel stick around in the MCU for some time…
