We’re only a couple of days from the release of the first movie in Sony’s Marvel cinematic universe called the Sony Universe of Marvel Characters, and there’s a lot of interesting things coming out about Venom. Such as word that they may actually have been a lot of stuff cut from the movie.
The Telegraph spotted an interview with ComicsExplained (you can find the embed below) where they asked Tom Hardy what his favorite scenes in Venom were, and he said:
“Things that aren’t in this movie. There are like 30 to 40 minutes worth of scenes that aren’t in this movie… all of them. Mad puppeteering scenes, dark comedy scenes. You know what I mean? They just never made it in.”
This kind of goes against what the producers told comicbook.com, where they said there was no “phantom cut” of the movie. Will this spark a #ReleaseTheHardyCut revolution after the movie comes out?
It also reminds one of Fantastic Four 2015 director Josh Trank and his infamous Tweet right after release, which got him in a bit of trouble:
Social media reactions for Venom come out tonight after the world premiere of the movie, while reviews are still embargoed for tomorrow night. The first public showings of Venom are this Thursday at 5:00pm.
