When to Realistically Expect Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 Trailers

It’s a slow time for Marvel news right now with Avengers: Infinity War just arriving on Blu-ray and a few months still left until Ant-Man and The Wasp to come home. We’re also more than seven months from the next MCU theatrical release with Captain Marvel.

While other sites are starting to try to fill their clicks by posting fan art as news, I don’t want to waste your time with stuff like that here. There is some big MCU stuff on the way, so instead of wasting your time with an embedded Tweet of fan art you can find on Reddit or Deviantart, I instead want to try to calm down people who are starting to get antsy without any big MCU news out there.

Easily the two biggest things people are speculating about right now is when the Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 teaser trailers will be coming.

Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8th, 2019. Six months out from that would be this September, and based on everything that is going on in October; a September release would make the most sense for a teaser release as it would also give them some buffer time before launching the Avengers 4 promotion. That teaser trailer, and the title reveal, will suck all of the attention away from Captain Marvel so it’d make sense for Marvel to separate the two teaser releases a bit.

October is actually a busy month for the MCU, even though many don’t know it yet since it hasn’t been officially announced. But that’s when the Blu-ray release of Ant-Man and The Wasp will likely arrive, the current rumored date is October 16th for the physical release. Much like it was in the latter half of July into August with the Avengers: Infinity War home release, a lot of Marvel’s marketing attention will be focused on that in October.

Which brings us to November. The first teaser trailer for Avengers: Infinity War was released on November 29th, 2017. With Avengers 4 releasing the same time of the year that Infinity War did, it’s very likely that we’ll see the first teaser for the second movie around the same time this year…give or take a week either way.

So despite the end of August being a slow news time, things will definitely be picking up for the MCU as we head into the fall and Marvel begins the promotion of both Captain Marvel and Avengers 4.
