Chris Pratt Says the Guardians Just Want to ‘Move Forward’ After the Gunn Firing

It wouldn’t be a week in Marvel Cinematic Universe news if there wasn’t another story about James Gunn, and today comes the first real statement from the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy following their director’s firing by Disney.

Speaking to the Associated Press, Chris Pratt says they just want to move forward after the drama:

“It’s not an easy time. We all love James and he’s a good friend of ours, but we also really love playing the Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s a complicated situation for everybody. And you know, we just want to move forward and do what’s right and be the best people we can be.”

Obviously people remember Dave Bautista saying he’d quit the movie if the script isn’t used, but from Pratt’s comment above it doesn’t sound like the rest of the cast is that reactionary to it.

He also talked about the statement they released as a cast:

“I love going to Comic-Con but I ended up not doing a lot of interviews around that time just because it was so shocking. All I know is we put a lot of time, thought and effort into the statement that we released about it. And I think we all kind of want that statement to be essentially what we have to say about it. And we were pretty clear and honest about how we feel.”

The James Gunn drama still isn’t over, as fans are awaiting to hear if Disney will be convinced by Marvel to reverse course in any way…even if it’s just being able to use his script for the movie.
