No, Moon Knight Was Not Almost in Iron Fist Season 2

Several websites are running stories this weekend with a sensational claim that Moon Knight almost made it into Iron Fist season 2 on Netflix. The problem with the claim is that it’s completely false if they bothered to look into the original Tweet they’re basing their stories on.

The original Tweet was from writer M. Raven Metzner where he responded to a fan question about Moon Knight saying that he did come up many times in the writer’s room as they developed the non-mutant version Typhoid Mary that will exist in the MCU:

On its surface the Tweet does sound like Moon Knight would appear in Iron Fist, but it’s not entirely clear. So I decided to ask him to clarify whether or not they planned to use Moon Knight, and the character just came up in general discussion in terms of how his condition in the comics compares to Typhoid Mary in the Netflix series:

Seriously people, it’s not hard to click on a Tweet and view the comments before posting a completely false story about Moon Knight being considered for the season.

Moon Knight does potentially have a future in the MCU, although it sounds like they have bigger plans for him than television. In an interview from around the time of Avengers: Infinity War‘s release, Kevin Feige told ScreenRant:

“Yes. Does that mean five years from now, 10 years from now, 15 years from now? There are stacks of character cards that we have in our, in our development offices, which we look at. Which we pull for him, which we discussed.”

If Marvel Studios’ development is looking at Moon Knight in the future, that means he potentially will end up in a movie at some point. It’s even possible he could be headed to Disney’s streaming service. But he definitely wasn’t being considered for Iron Fist like the false stories are claiming.
