The events of Captain America: Civil War play a huge part in setting up the plot of Ant-Man and The Wasp, but the movie almost had a hilarious flash back to Civil War.

Peyton Reed explains in an interview with Radio Times that they nearly had Luis do his own version of the Civil War airport battle, complete with a Captain America cameo:

“Early on, we had a version where we were going to do a quick version of the tarmac fight from Civil War, with some ridiculous thing where, you know, Captain America has Ant-Man as a baseball and throws him,” Reed explained. “Because the whole thing is Luis’ version of events, right?”

It was decided that the movie was already referencing Civil War too much and had to be its own thing, so the idea was cut. Still, having Luis describe the events of a past MCU movie would’ve been a hilarious scene and probably would’ve been one of the most popular parts of the movie…
