Even though Marvel hasn’t officially revealed any “Phase 4” movies, we know of a few that are on the way. James Gunn has finished writing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and it’ll begin filming in January. There have been writers hired for The Eternals, and now Black Widow has a director.
As was previously reported not too long ago there was a short list for the movie, and today The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Cate Shortland will direct it:
Cate Shortland, the Australian director perhaps best known for the Nazi drama Lore, has signed on to direct Black Widow, Marvel’s action-adventure project that will star Scarlett Johansson.
There’s no release date yet for Black Widow, but with it this far in development it’s likely to be one of Marvel’s 2020 movies after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
