Kevin Feige Gives Hints at the Future of the MCU Post-Avengers 4

Today Kevin Feige did a talk at the Produced By 2018 conference, and several people on social media where there to capture what he said. He gave a lot of cool stories about how much he enjoyed the Superman movies and how many times he saw The Phantom Menace in theaters, but what he said about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the events of Avengers 4 is the most interesting.

A user on Reddit compiled everything he said, and I’ll expand on this after the jump:

What next after Avengers IW2? Kevin Feige says he is working on:

  • Continuing stories of characters you’re familiar with
  • Different incarnations of characters you know
  • Introducing completely new characters you never heard of before (unless ur a comics fan)

The third point there is obviously referring to The Eternals, as there are even comic fans who have no idea who they are. However, the second point is the very interesting one for him to kind of confirm right there.

Back when I was first told of The Eternals, from the exact same source, I was also told that Marvel had ideas for a couple of other characters far into the future. These were not solidified plans, and in no way on any kind of schedule. If they were to happen, it wouldn’t be until well after 2022.

But what I was told was that Marvel has ideas for a couple of different characters to do some kind of solo film in the future. One of these characters was Hawkeye. And Kevin Feige’s comments of “different incarnations of characters” coincides with what I was told about Hawkeye as Clint isn’t the only person to go by that mantle in the comics. I won’t say anymore because, again, it’s not something that is likely to happen for a long time if at all, but it’s definitely something that is on Marvel Studios’ radar.

And it’s something fans of the character should be very excited about.
