The Original Ant-Man May Give a Huge Clue How the Sequel Connects to Avengers 4

Marvel likes to make sure everything is connected in the movies, sometimes setting things up years in advance, and going back to 2015’s Ant-Man we may see a huge clue how the sequel and Avengers 4 are linked.

One of the big rumors of the Avengers 4 plot talks about how time travel may be used in the sequel to reverse what Thanos did in Infinity War. According to the rumor, Tony Stark and Scott Lang use a piece of technology that Hank Pym developed in order to travel back through time and attempt to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos is able to.

But what technology has Hank Pym developed that allows them to travel through time? The first Ant-Man gives a big clue:

“Hank Pym: Do not screw with the regulator. If that regulator is compromised you would go sub-atomic.
Scott Lang: What does that mean?
Hank Pym: It means that you would enter a quantum realm.
Scott Lang: What does that mean?
Hank Pym: It means that you would enter a reality where all concepts of time and space become irrelevant as you shrink for all eternity. Everything that you know, and love, gone forever.”

The trailers for Ant-Man and The Wasp establish that Hank Pym has “opened up the Quantum Realm” and we even see the craft they use to travel to it multiple times in the second trailer:

If Hank Pym has learned how to traverse the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and The Wasp, a place where time and space is irrelevant, that is absolutely the sort of technology that the Avengers can use in Avengers 4 to travel back in time and stop Thanos.
