For the last couple of weeks there’s been a big rumor going around about what Avengers 4 may be about. Since that rumor came out there has been more evidence backing it up, and now something has come from the directors of the movie that may seem to confirm it even more.
In talking with ComicBook.com, Joe Russo said:
“I don’t think there are any comics that correlate to it,” Joe Russo said. “I think we’re in pretty fresh territory with Avengers 4. If anything, I think it’s interesting after to go back and look at some of the Marvel films and view them through a different lens. But I can’t think of any comics in particular that would have value.”
There have been comparisons to Star Trek: The Next Generation’s series finale “All Good Things…” with Avengers 4, and that’s exactly what “All Good Things…” did. It looked that the past events of Star Trek: TNG through a different lens, and Joe Russo’s comment up there make it sound like that may be what they’re doing with the heavily rumored time travel plot of Avengers 4. They’re going to look back at key events in the past ten years of the MCU, although through a different lens as Tony Stark tries to fix what went wrong with Thanos.
