People wondering if Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. would address the events of Avengers: Infinity War got their answer last night. Originally Infinity War was going to come out next week, which means this episode would’ve aired before the movie’s release. But since they moved the release date up, the reference is probably missed by most Marvel fans who will be in theaters watching the Thanos instead of this show. They’ll have to catch it on their DVRs.
The reference wasn’t a spoiler at all as it just talks about what’s seen at the trailer, one character asks Daisy if she’s seen all the crazy stuff happening in New York. That’s referencing the New York scenes at the beginning of Infinity War. Almost like even the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. show runners were in the dark about what happens in Infinity War and only had the trailer to go by.
Right now it’s unknown if the show is going to acknowledge what happens in the movie beyond this, but honestly it’ll be really strange if they don’t. The only explanation could be that this season will end before the whole events of Infinity War play out. And as of right now, a sixth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t official, but it’s always possible they were waiting for the end of this season and the release of Infinity War to reveal it in order to avoid spoilers.
